What is a retainer program?

A retainer is perfect for businesses who need design and consulting services monthly, but don’t want the overhead of hiring a full-time employee. The purpose of a retainer program is to secure a professional to help with all your design and development needs and build a relationship with someone who knows your brand well. It is paid for upfront, each month before work begins. A block of time will be allocated for you within the schedule for the number of hours you purchase. This gives us the ability to plan the workload ahead of time and allows you to meet any deadlines you have.

Why is a retainer program right for your company?

  • Savings – There's no need to pay benefits like health insurance or 401K to an independent contractor. And the more hours you commit to, the lower the rates you receive.

  • Peace of mind – By paying in advance, a block of time is already saved for you each month. We will work together to set goals and get your project complete on time.

  • Professional support – You won't have to think about designing your own styles or learning Illustrator or industry lingo.  Your work is in highly experienced hands.

What type of work falls into the retainer program?

Flexible services include:

  • Complete end-to-end design, development, and production support

  • Market research and trend boards

  • Design work from hand sketches to CAD drawings and flats

  • Construction and quality detail reviews for existing garments

  • Lab dip approvals and print artwork development

  • Component, fabric, and factory sourcing and vetting

  • Development tech pack creation through production tech packs

  • Label development and hang tag set up

  • Factory liaison and garment industry interpreter

  • Cost negotiation for parts or for total garment packages

  • Garment measurement and size grading

  • Writing fit comments and coordinating wear testing

  • Production calendar creation and bulk ordering support

What types of products are your specialty?

Our strengths include intimate apparel / lingerie, lounge and sleepwear, sportswear, medical apparel, and accessories such as tote bags and headbands. If it's made of fabric, we can figure it out. We do not work with jeans and leather goods.

Basic Retainer - 10 hours

  • 10 hours per month

  • All new clients start with this level of retainer services to work on a 1-month short project together and make sure we're a good fit

  • Existing clients can then purchase this retainer as needed

  • Up to 2x 1-hour meeting calls per month

  • 3-month minimum required

Deluxe Retainer - 20 hours

Premium Retainer - 30 hours

  • 20 hours per month

  • This option is great if you have a larger project in the works

  • Up to 4x 1-hour meeting calls per month

  • 3-month minimum required

  • 17% discount from the Basic Retainer

  • 30 hours per month

  • It's like having us on staff!

  • Get priority service for your projects with this option

  • Up to 5x 1-hour meeting calls per month

  • 3-month minimum required

  • 20% discount from the Deluxe Retainer

What's next?

Upon receipt of your contact form and if it sounds like we may be a business match, we'll send you our rate and detail sheet along with a link to book a 30-minute introductory call. Let's discuss your business and your goals. We can provide an estimate on which retainer package may be most beneficial for your company at the end of the call. Then we'll send you a contract for e-signature and your first invoice. Your project will begin upon receipt of payment.
